Title: Head – American Markets

Location: Qatar, Doha

Department: Investor Relations Department

Key Responsibilities:

Meets with investors to identify their plans for investment in Qatar and makes the relevant recommendation
Develops and maintains relationships with investors and stakeholders though conducting proactive communication which builds the investment relationship and advances the project
Supervises the team in lead generation from American countries
Researches current issues and trends in international business expansion and keeps abreast with global knowledge and best practices in the field of foreign direct investment/investment promotion activities across the globe
Maximize lead conversion into actual projects
Provides analyses and reports on investors’ expansion project requirements, and Qatar’s value proposition for the project
Manages CRM system to track progress from investment projects activities
Supports the manager in the monthly reporting on KPI’s to the strategy team
Supports the implementation of the department’s strategy
Draft and review Memorandums of Understanding with investors and partners
Coaches and mentors junior colleagues


Bachelor’s degree in international business, economics, management, marketing, or business administration
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in an Investment Promotion Agency with a preference for experience focusing on the American market
Language: English (other major business languages will be useful)
Experience Required:

Good understanding of challenges of international business when operating in emerging markets as well as investment attraction, PR, marketing and/or research on FDI, trade, and international business and economics
Sector experience of key priority sectors in Qatar/GCC and globally is a plus
A collaborative approach to working together in a team and across divisions
Expertise in the use of tools to analyse economic data and industry-related information to understand the economic impact of investment
Good communication skills – written and spoken
Fluent in English and other major business languages will be useful
Keen analytical and organisational skills are required for direct data gathering and analysis, formulation of reports and presentations
Ability to work at a fast pace with urgency to produce results and achieve goals as well as to meet deadlines and organize them and research output.
Ability to influence investor and stakeholder dialogue
Ability to review investor and stakeholder reports
Ability to draft research reports
Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously
Computer literate
Ability to communicate the Qatar value proposition
