We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Contracts Engineer to join our team and support the effective administration of contracts for ongoing oil & gas EPC and maintenance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract formation, negotiation, risk management, and claims within the oil & gas sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, review, and administer contractual documents, including subcontracts, purchase orders, variations, and amendments.
Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and project requirements.
Support project managers in contractual and commercial matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Identify and mitigate contractual risks, ensuring appropriate documentation and communication.
Evaluate and prepare claims, variations, and change orders in coordination with project teams.
Participate in tendering activities, including review of terms & conditions, risk assessments, and contract negotiations.
Maintain proper contract documentation and correspondence records.
Interface with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual issues.
Provide advice and guidance to management on contractual interpretations and disputes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience as a Contracts Engineer in oil & gas, EPC, or construction projects.
Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard contract forms.
Proven experience in claims management, variations, and contract administration.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in MS Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
Preferred Attributes
Experience working with international contractors or consultants.
Exposure to pre- and post-award contract activities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
