Location Sound Recordist

We’re searching for an experienced Location Sound Recordist to join our high-end, content production team based in Doha, Qatar.

This role requires a highly organised, well presented, Location Sound Recordist who is capable of collaborating with a dynamic production team to ensure on-schedule and on-budget delivery of a wide range of content production projects.

The Location Sound Recordist is required to professionally interact with a very wide-range of on-camera contributors and as such we’re looking for a team player who will consistently maintain high professional standards in a very wide range of situations.

The role requires a focused, hardworking professional who is committed to consistently delivering first-class work and supporting the efforts of the wider production team at all times.

Applicants must have at least 3 years of Location Sound Recordist credits and have a proven track record of consistently working with either a recognised broadcasting organisation or an independent professional production facility.

Command of English language is essential (written & oral). Knowledge of Arabic and/or other languages is an advantage.

Applicants must have a passport with at least 6 months validity.

Key Responsibilities:

Fulfilling professional location sound recordist duties on a wide variety of video projects.
Providing best case location sound recording production pathways at all times
Utilising first class location sound recording procedures and protocols
Behaving as a first-class ambassador of the production department at all times.
Provide full support to all production crew members as required
Identifying & utilising best-in-class location sound recording equipment as required
Working collaboratively with the post-production, creative and production teams to create outputs of the highest quality.
Providing constant creative and technical input throughout every project
Maintenance of all sound recording equipment (hardware & software)
Maintenance of sound recording equipment databases and workflow systems
Providing solutions to any problems when technical issues arise, or delivery mishaps occur.
Coordinate with producers to facilitate project documents, purchase orders, invoicing, coding and the tracking of any costs related to sound recording duties.
Work closely with the producers and project managers to deliver projects on time.
Work closely with the internal production teams and localisation team to facilitate final delivery.
Liaises, when necessary, with external production partners to facilitate delivery.
Quality check final exports of master audio before delivery.
Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills

3+ years’ experience working as a professional sound recordist on a wide variety of projects
Extensive knowledge of pre, post, and production timelines and workflows.
Expert level location sound recording technical skillset
Expert level knowledge of professional location microphones
Expert level knowledge of professional location sound recording devices
Expert level knowledge of professional location sound recording ancillary equipment
Expert professional video workflow skillset
Expert professional post-production system hardware skillset
Excellent organisational skills and ability to multi-task on simultaneous projects.
Excellent English written and oral communication skills;
Outstanding project management skills.
Working knowledge of Windows, OSX, and all MS Office Applications.
