Geographical Information System (GIS) Developer required by our clients in India and the Middle East

POSITION SCOPE
Position to report: N+1 Geomatics Lead; N+2 Head, Engineering & Commissioning (ENG)
Responsible for developing GIS widgets and tools for use within the ArcGIS Portal environment.
Responsible for supporting the Client’s GIS web portal, including web mapping services and tools whilst the Client’s GIS Specialist is on leave.
Provide GIS developments and support for internal stakeholders as required.
Assist Geomatics Lead in the tight financial and budgetary control of projects, contracts, materials and services.
Doha (Qatar) office. Standard office hours, 5 days a week.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the GIS Specialist regarding all technical matters.
Secondary point of contact for all GIS requirements in client.
Deliver bespoke GIS widgets and tools to support multiple projects.
Support the Client’s GIS web portal and continue its promotion across business functions. Develop individual solutions to add further value across the business.
Widget and tool development for deployment within ArcGIS Portal.
Create, publish & administer web services using ArcGIS Server.
Maintain content shared company-wide using Portal for ArcGIS – ensuring all metadata is complete.
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Education: BSc in Geographical Information Systems.
Professional experience: Minimum 5 years’ recent experience with GIS in the development domain.
Technical competencies:
Demonstrable track record of widget and tool development and deployment.
Administration of ArcGIS Desktop/Server/Enterprise, SDE, Python, AutoCAD.
Proficient in use of Portal for ArcGIS for managing, sharing and enhancing GIS content (e.g. dashboard creation).
Behavioral competencies:
Strong communication skills, taking initiative and decisions.
Other competencies: Proficient in written and spoken technical English.
