Executive Project Director

To develop and implement related organizational planning and strategies and to manage operations and delivery that encompasses positioning for opportunities and client relations. To identify right technical expertise and to work with operations for client satisfaction during implementation. Provide subject matter expertise, strategic management, leadership and control of a team of Managers and engineers to achieve planning, schedule, finance construction and design coordination of work on mega-projects, or on multiple small or medium size projects.

Specific Role Requirements

Manage the complex organizational interactions that evolve from the participation of several ASTAD divisions / sections on the project/s or from client; established relationships with other contractors and the clients.
Direct subordinates in the overall execution of projects / assignments.
Assign project leads for tender proposal support and for awarded projects
Provide career development mentoring and on-the-job training.
Participate in business development initiatives related to the promotion of ASTAD’s project capabilities.
Provide operational supervision and technical guidance in areas of expertise.
Establish and implement manpower deployments for awarded and assigned projects.
Monitor the progress of active projects and ensure that responsible actions are communicated to members of the project/s management team. Review and approve project execution plans, team building programs, and other critical project documents, as required.
Direct the activities of subordinates and provide appropriate delegation of management authority, responsibility, and accountability.
Seek resolution on difficulties between disciplines and instil an integrated approach for the performance of the project.
Review and identify major trends and forecasts that may have impact on the project/s.
Assist Business Development in the presentation of Company and Business Line qualifications for the execution of projects, initial contract negotiations, and client relations as and when essential.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

Bachelor degree in Engineering and a Master’s degree in Management would be ideal
Membership of professional engineering organization such as (P.E., P.Eng., UK Chartered Engineers) is preferred.
PMP certified or equivalent is preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 20 years of experience in the Construction industry.
Minimum of 5 years of MENA region experience.
Advanced knowledge in a field of science, industrial engineering or related discipline. Knowledge of safety programs, engineering programs, principles and methodologies.
