Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities:
1. Measurement and Payment Administration
- Prepare, review, and certify Interim Payment Certificates (IPC) in line with contract provisions.
- Evaluate and quantify Variations to ensure proper valuation and documentation.
2. Cost and Budget Control
- Monitor actual expenditure against budget to identify potential overruns.
- Assess financial impact of Asset Increase/Decrease and ensure adjustments are accurately reflected in payment.
3. Claims and Contract Administration
- Prepare, review, and submit contractual claims (time and cost related) in accordance with the contract.
- Support negotiations and assist in dispute resolution while safeguarding the Contractor’s contractual entitlements.
4. Team Leadership and Compliance
- Lead and mentor junior QS staff to ensure accuracy and efficiency in quantity surveying activities.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, Qatari regulations, company policy and Employer’s requirements.
- Insurance and Risk Support.
Job Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management from a recognized university.
- Experience: minimum 10 year of post-qualification experience and at least 5 years on Similar project Experience. Proven track record in large-scale infrastructure, O&M, or road/asset management projects.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in cost estimating, BOQ preparation, and variation analysis.
- Professional Certification: Membership or chartered status with a recognized body (e.g., RICS, CIOB, AIQS) preferred.
- Language: High proficiency in English (written and spoken); Arabic knowledge an advantage.
