Legal Expert

We are a smart-mobility provider that will be offering Qatar a new array of mobility products including e-assist bicycles and electric scooters.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The successful candidate will effectively ensure External and Internal Tasks:

External Tasks

· Communicate with outside counsel on new filings and legal strategy

· Gather information for discovery responses for outside counsel

· Negotiate with opposing attorneys on prospective and existing lawsuits and resolve claims/reach settlement agreements

· Contact city administrators and attorneys regarding regulatory issues and citations

· Contact impound companies and negotiate the release of scooters

Internal Tasks

· Research and write appeals for regulatory appeals

· Support government partnership teams on city ordinances and RFPs

· Research impound and citation ordinances and state laws

· Assist in preparing witnesses for criminal prosecution testimony

· Assist in subpoena response preparation

· Research products liability law across federal and multiple state jurisdictions

· Draft memorandums for the team to assess the liability of claims and litigation risk

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

· At least a Bachelor’s degree (preferably a Master’s Degree) in law from a recognized university.

Experience/industry

· Minimum 5 years of proven work experience as a Legal Expert (Preferably within the transportation and logistics industries) in Qatar or GCC region.

· Proven work experience as an attorney doing regulatory appeals, litigation, municipal legal work Experience with litigation and appellate work

Specific skills

· Superior English and Arabic language skills (mandatory)

· Excellent technical writing skills (mandatory)

· Strong analytical and project management skills (mandatory)

· Solid knowledge of law and regulations in Qatar

· Good understanding of injury claim insurance process including submission, liability determination, resolution, etc.

· Proficient using Microsoft Office suite, G-Suite

· Ability to work independently with minimal direction on multiple tasks

· Capacity to represent Falcon Ride in a respectful and articulate manner

· Attention to detail, critical-thinker and problem-solver

· Capability to deliver work within tight deadlines and handle heavier work pressure near deadlines.

· Ability to work independently with minimal direction on multiple tasks

· Ability to work beyond “regular business hours”

Licenses

A valid driver’s license in Qatar (mandatory)
