Job Title: Electrical Technician
Work Location : Ras Laffan Industrial Cities, Qatar
Main Duties/Responsibilities
● Follow HSE procedure and work with complete safety at all times & good knowledge in electrical safety
● Good knowledge in electrical lock out/ tag out procedure
● Knowledge and experience in the preventive maintenance of HV/LV motors, circuit breakers, protection relays, heaters, busbars, UPS, battery charger, capacitor banks, VFD etc
● Experience with HV GIS systems.
● Knowledge and experience in the setting modifications of circuit breakers and
protection relays and troubleshooting of electrical circuits.
● Must have knowledge and experience in the Insulation resistance measurement of motors, cables
● Must have knowledge and experience in the winding resistance measurements of motors, transformers
● Must have knowledge and experience in the inspection and testing of earth network systems.
● Must have knowledge and experience to perform the thermal image of the electrical
terminals and have the ability to interpret abnormalities in the thermal image.
● Shall have experience to check the terminal tightness with torque wrench
● Circuit breaker cleaning, terminal tightness checking
● Must have good experience in the replacement of back up batteries of UPS/ battery charger units.
● Must have good experience in the load testing of UPS and battery charger batteries.
● Must have knowledge and experience in modifying the settings of VFD, protection relays.
● Thorough knowledge of reading and understanding the SLD and wiring diagrams
● Shall have experience of cathodic protection measurements of pipeline.
● Must have experience for the installation of cable trays
● Must have experience of cable laying, glanding and termination.
● Portable power tools inspection
● Should have experience in lighting and small power activities.
● Respond to emergency situations in order to resolve issues on an immediate basis
● Must have a good understanding of QA/QC and HSE compliance audits
● Assist Gsupervisor during stock checking
● Maintain, preserve and secure the tools and equipment
Skills & Experience
Qualifications:
● Engineering Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Experience:
· ● Minimum 5 years previous experience in a similar role/industry.
· ● Experience in Air separation plant is preferable.
· ● Should have experience in lighting and small power activities.
Skills:
· ● Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Gmail)
· ● Good verbal and written communication in English.
· ● Experience in Maximo or SAP or any other computerized maintenance management systems will be an added advantage.
