As a Procurement Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our procurement operations within the oil and gas sector. Your expertise in mechanical engineering and knowledge of equipment will be instrumental in ensuring the timely and efficient acquisition of high-quality mechanical components and systems. Your ability to evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts will contribute to the success of our projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies specific to mechanical equipment in line with project requirements and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, assessing their capabilities, technical expertise, and adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand equipment specifications, technical drawings, and project schedules.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotation (RFQs) and requests for proposals (RFPs) to suppliers, analyzing bids and selecting the most suitable vendors.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure competitive advantage and optimize cost savings.
- Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations to monitor compliance with contractual agreements and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure technical requirements and standards are met by suppliers.
- Manage the procurement process from order placement to delivery, ensuring on-time receipt of mechanical equipment while maintaining quality standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to optimize inventory management and prevent shortages or excesses of mechanical components.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical equipment procurement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and familiarity with mechanical equipment used in the oil and gas sector.
- Excellent understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and supplier evaluation.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in using procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
