Senior Associate – Investment Manager, Advisor & Securities Supervision

Responsibilities:

– Develop, maintain, and execute a bespoke risk-based supervisory programme (underpinned by a well-thought-out risk review) to assess and ensure that authorised firms under the QFCRA’s responsibility have the necessary risk management systems in place to prudentially report, identify, monitor, and measure the risks inherent in their operations
– Recommend, on a proactive basis, appropriate supervisory action(s) to ensure firms’ compliance with all applicable rules and regulations
– Ensure that relevant issues are clearly identified for institutions under your direct responsibility and for those in your portfolio
– Meet with management and the governing body, including graph presentations by the QFCRA.
– Document meetings held with authorised firms
– Prepare and update Risk Reviews and Supervisory Programmes
– Prepare, adopt, and follow-up on RMPs
– Follow-up and mitigate internal audit matters
– Data collection requests, preparation of MIRs
– Analyse financial products and investment-linked policies data and related standards reporting to the QFCRA
– Assess the legal requirements at registration with the QFCRA and the compliance of funds registered in the QFC
– Advanced use of Microsoft Excel

Candidate profile:

– 5+ years of experience both in a regulatory and financial services industry with strong practical and analytical skills
– Relevant bachelor’s degree and/or diploma in insurance
– Prior experience in working within a prudential or consumer regulatory environment or a similar role in a firm .e.g. Compliance Oversight, Risk Management, Internal Audit
– Personal skills: people management, self-motivation, team player
