We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lighting Technician to join our team. As a Lighting Technician, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining lighting systems for various events, productions, or installations. You will work closely with production teams, event planners, and other stakeholders to ensure that lighting requirements are met effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate lighting systems for events, productions, or installations, including positioning and focusing of lights, programming lighting consoles, and operating lighting control systems.
Collaborate with production teams
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of lighting equipment, including replacing bulbs, lenses, gels, and other components as needed.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, including electrical codes, fire codes, and other industry standards.
Provide technical support and assistance during rehearsals, performances, or events, including troubleshooting and resolving lighting issues in real-time.
Collaborate with other members of the technical team, including sound technicians, stagehands, and riggers, to ensure smooth operation and coordination of all technical aspects of events or productions.
Maintain an organized inventory of lighting equipment, including tracking repairs, replacements, and additions to the inventory.
Train and supervise junior lighting technicians or assistants as needed
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Lighting Technician in the entertainment, event, or production industry.
Strong knowledge of lighting equipment, including various types of lights, lighting control systems, and programming of lighting consoles.
Familiarity with different lighting techniques, such as color mixing, intensity control, and special effects.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, lighting plots, and other technical documents.
Knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to lighting.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly and efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by event schedules.
Physical ability to lift, carry, and move heavy lighting equipment as needed.
