The Senior Environmental Engineer is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the PWA / Assets Affairs carbon management plan, identifying and setting the standards for carbon reduction projects and initiatives, and focusing on greenhouse gas emissions modelling programs on energy and resource conservation that will reduce the impact of Assets Affairs and its supply chain on the environment
Operational Responsibilities
1. Gathering and validating emission factors and carbon data. Contacting suppliers and various companies globally to request carbon and consumption data.
2. Preparing internal quality check reports to ensure accurate data
3. Analyzing carbon data and taking out different carbon reports
4. Processing and standardising data inputs from customers
5. Supporting supply chain emissions calculations using customer data inputs, internal systems and emissions data
6. Carbon emissions data research and collection from public and private sources
7. Estimating time requirements of customer deliverables
8. Responsible for developing and monitoring agreed carbon reduction pathways and targets and report on the organisation’s progress towards Net Zero.
9. Lead on development of PWA’s Corporate Environmental Policy
10. Develop and promote evidence-based technical policy, standards and protocols, and provide specialist guidance to enable the Authority to develop more sustainable use of the portfolio.
11. Act as Assets Affairs’ lead specialist and technical advisor for the Authority in matters relating to energy efficiency and carbon reduction.
12. Explore ways of generating income for the implementation of climate change projects.
13. Keeping abreast of developments in the environmental and carbon sectors

Minimum Bachelor’s Degree Environmental Science / Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Planning & Design or Renewable Energy / Biochemistry studies
• Up to 11 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Master’s degree)
• Up to 12 years of cumulative experience in a relevant field (Bachelor’s degree)
• In-depth knowledge about current environmental laws and regulations and potential regulatory changes
• A prior hands-on knowledge coordinating complex projects / regulatory action is also useful.
• It is also vital that they undertake initial and annual refresher training in hazardous waste management (RCRA), have an understanding of ISO 14001 and experience in auditing of requirements
