The Interior Design Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of interior design projects within the office. This role requires strong leadership and coordination skills to supervise the drafting team and ensure that design concepts are translated accurately into detailed technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Coordination:
– Collaborate with the design team to understand project requirements and technical constraints.
– Develop technical strategies and solutions to address design challenges and ensure project feasibility.
– Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other consultants to integrate technical requirements into the design process.
– Review and analyze technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and construction documents, to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations and standards.
Drafting Team Supervision:
– Lead and manage the drafting team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high-quality work output.
– Assign tasks and prioritize workload to meet project deadlines effectively.
– Conduct regular reviews and quality checks of technical drawings to maintain consistency and accuracy.
– Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance the skills and capabilities of team members.
– Project Management Support:
– Work closely with project managers to align technical requirements with project goals and objectives.
– Assist in project planning and scheduling, identifying critical milestones and potential risks.
– Participate in client meetings and presentations to communicate technical aspects of the design and address client concerns or questions.
– Collaborate with contractors and vendors during the construction phase to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance with design intent.
Technical Expertise:
§ Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to interior design and construction.
§ Apply knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards to ensure designs meet safety and accessibility requirements.
§ Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, addressing questions and resolving technical issues as they arise.
Qualifications:
§ Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
§ Proven experience in interior design technical management, with a focus on office-based projects.
§ Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design software.
§ Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
§ Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
§ Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards applicable to interior design projects.
