· Should have worked in the mercantile marine or private industrial maintenance sector.
· Should have technical knowledge of mechanical/ electrical /marine/ Structural equipment/ structures including Safety & Control systems.
· Hand on experience in defect identification, rectification & maintenance.
· Ability to undertake welding/ repairs inspections and review.
Experience in technical writing of operation & maintenance procedure etc of new equipment is an added advantage
Tasking:
· Follow and undertake routine repairs & servicing schedules.
· Allocates work as required to a team of fitters/ technicians/ jr. engineers.
· Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults and supervise time critical equipment repairs.
· Offer technical expertise to junior maintenance engineers and technicians.
· Co-ordination of repair and maintenance activities with all concerned.
· Check work-in-progress and during completion to meet specifications.
· Work with reliability engineers to extend equipment life cycle.
· Support ongoing preventative maintenance program.
· Undertake maintenance of all critical mechanical equipment of the ships, like pumps, pipelines, high pressure lines, electricity generator engines, etc.
· Good knowledge in operation and maintenance of all critical mechanical equipment of the ships, like pumps, motors, cranes, pipelines, high pressure lines, electricity generator engines, etc.
· Formulate technical scope of work for retro-fitment of new equipment as part of obsolesce management.
To carry out any other duties as assigned based on aptitude and experience.
