The F&G Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire and gas detection systems to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role involves working on critical systems in oil and gas facilities, industrial plants, or similar environments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Installation and Maintenance:
o Perform routine and preventive maintenance on fire and gas detection systems, including sensors, alarms, and control panels.
o Install new F&G equipment as per project requirements and system designs.
2. Troubleshooting and Repairs:
o Diagnose and resolve faults or malfunctions in F&G systems.
o Replace defective components and perform system calibrations to maintain accuracy and reliability.
3. Testing and Inspections:
o Conduct regular testing of fire and gas systems in compliance with international standards (e.g., NFPA, IEC, and BS).
o Document inspection results and ensure system readiness at all times.
4. Compliance and Safety:
o Ensure that all activities are performed in line with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
o Maintain compliance with local and international regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education:
· Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering or a related technical field.
Experience:
· Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in maintaining F&G systems in Oil & Gas, industrial, or commercial facilities.
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining fire and gas detection equipment from leading manufacturers (e.g., Honeywell, Siemens, Det-Tronics).
· Hands-on experience with control panels, gas detectors, flame detectors, and fire alarm systems.
· Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ISA, IEC).
Soft Skills:
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Good communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
Certifications (Preferred):
· Certification in F&G systems maintenance or relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
· Vendor-specific training on F&G systems is a plus.
Working Conditions:
· May require working in hazardous environments, including confined spaces and heights.
· Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and during plant shutdowns.
