Position Title: Head of Contracting:
Location: Qatar
Main Purpose of the Role
To lead, negotiate, and manage procurement-related contracts across the company and its subsidiaries. This role ensures legal and contractual compliance, mitigates risks, and supports commercial and operational efficiency through best-in-class contracting practices aligned with corporate procurement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and manage procurement contracts, including supplier and service agreements.
• Ensure all procurement contracts comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Identify and evaluate commercial risks; propose mitigation strategies.
• Monitor contract performance, compliance, expiry dates, and renewals.
• Maintain a secure and updated contract database with version and access control.
• Coordinate with the Legal Department on disputes, claims, and contract variations.
• Review and advise on contract terms during RFPs, bids, and tender evaluations.
• Standardizing contract templates and developing tools to streamline contracting processes.
• Provide training and guidance to procure teams on contract management with the best practices.
Job Objectives:
• Implement and enforce effective contract lifecycle management across the organization.
• Minimize legal and financial exposure through robust contract governance.
• Achieve cost-effective, favorable terms in all contractual engagements.
• Ensure strict adherence to legal, policy, and compliance frameworks.
• Strengthening vendor relationships through well-structured and managed contracts.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Law, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
Contract/legal certifications (e.g., CIPS, IACCM) are preferred.
Experience:
• 7–10 years in contract management within procurement functions.
• Experience working in a holding group or multi-sector environment is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of Qatar commercial and procurement laws.
