We are currently looking for an experienced HSE Officer to join our team for a marine civil construction project in Qatar. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of marine safety, lifting operations, and Qatari HSE regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
– Implement and monitor project HSE, lifting, and marine safety plans
– Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy LNG, contractor standards, and national regulations
– Supervise lifting operations, review plans, and verify equipment certifications
– Conduct site inspections, incident investigations, and enforce safety protocols
– Oversee critical/over-water lifts and coordinate with marine traffic
– Ensure proper use of PPE, including life jackets and fall protection near water
– Lead toolbox talks, emergency drills, and safety inductions
– Maintain inspection records and submit regular HSE reports
Qualifications & Requirements:
– Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
– NEBOSH IGC (or equivalent certification)
– LOLER certification (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations)
– Minimum 5 years of experience in marine civil construction
– Familiarity with Qatari HSE laws, ISO 45001, IMO, and SOLAS standards
– Strong leadership, communication, and incident investigation skills
Key Competencies:
– Expert knowledge of lifting/rigging safety and marine hazards
– Proactive approach to hazard identification and risk mitigation
– Ability to lead multicultural, cross-functional teams on safety matters
