The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the design, planning, and development of Low Voltage (LV) electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. The role includes preparing electrical designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare electrical designs and layouts for LV power distribution systems.
Develop single-line diagrams, load schedules, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and panel schedules.
Prepare shop drawings, as-built drawings, and technical submittals.
Review project specifications, tender documents, and client requirements.
Coordinate with project managers, consultants, architects, and other engineering disciplines.
Ensure designs comply with local regulations, electrical codes, and industry standards.
Support project execution by providing technical assistance and resolving design-related issues.
Conduct site visits when required for inspections, surveys, and coordination.
Assist in material selection and preparation of BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
Maintain accurate design documentation and project records.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in electrical design, specifically in LV systems.
Strong knowledge of LV power distribution, lighting systems, cable sizing, and electrical calculations.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with electrical design standards and local authority requirements.
Ability to prepare technical reports, drawings, and design calculations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Qatar/GCC projects.
Knowledge of ETAP, Dialux, or similar electrical design software.
UPDA/MMUP certification is an advantage.
Valid Qatar Driving License is preferred.
