Protection Engineer jobs in Qatar require candidates with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in Control Relay and Protection, specifically in HV, Distribution systems including 132KV, 66KV, and 11KV substation systems. The role involves testing and commissioning within similar utility/live systems.
Protection Engineers are expected to have expertise in the testing of Electromechanical, Static, and Numerical Relays, as well as experience in testing CT/VTs, numerical relay configuration, relay firmware, setting, testing, and commissioning of Pilot differential/Fiber optic Differential Protection. They should also be proficient in Directional Over Current/Directional Earth Fault Protection commissioning and troubleshooting of Protection and control systems, as well as Grading, SCADA, and GOOSE.
Additionally, candidates for these roles should be well-versed in control, Protection, and communication drawings, enabling them to comprehend the control, Protection, and communication schemes of the substations.
