Senior Assignment producer: Core responsibilities
Oversee the coordination, execution, and delegation of workload for Assignment producers

Plan editorial stories development, set time schedules, define coverage and treatment needed

Assign reporters to carry out stories and interviews

Provide support for complete coverage in field, including research, contact information, phone calls

Manage relevant permissions and clearances for shooting

Serve as the primary newsgathering resource point person for news/programs producers

Review and approve scripts for assigned stories to ensure they are aligned with the news standards

To be last line of defense in making sure that stories assigned are ready to go on air

Supervise and track budget for assigned projects

Take part in strategic planning of events to be covered both editorially and logistically

To be considered a ”go-to” person on the Assignment desk in dealing with major projects

To provide training and mentoring to new Assignment producers

Other Duties

To arrange guests for the newscasts and programs

To occasionally report from the field

Travel and carry out coverage abroad

Perform additional duties and take on special projects as assigned

Excellent writing and interviewing skills

Strong editorial judgment skills

Creative vision and plan for content

Proven leadership skills

Ability to develop Multi-Media production skills

Hard-working and constantly chasing stories and contacts
Knowledge

Fluency in English

Editing and shooting

Expansive knowledge of local and regional current affairs, history and newsmak

Experience

Minimum of 5 years related experience in field reporting or news assignment

Experience in social media and digital platforms management is an advantage

Education

Minimum Bachelor degree in journalism or in a related field
