Our client, a major data centre operator, is seeking a Technical Director for the Middle East region.
They are rapidly expanding across multiple countries and securing contracts with both hyperscalers and enterprises.
**Responsibilities:**
1. Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with local government and relevant authorities through appropriate communication channels.
2. Managing the filing and approval process for data center projects from planning to construction drawing design.
3. Overseeing permitting consultants to ensure timely and compliant permitting processes.
4. Handling project construction land and approval procedures.
5. Managing planning and construction licenses in adherence to national and local regulations.
6. Coordinating with relevant competent departments for review and approval procedures.
7. Managing formalities for essential utilities and supporting procedures for data center construction.
8. Ensuring on-time, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
9. Implementing best practices for document management and record-keeping.
10. Providing regular updates on permitting status and addressing challenges.
11. Performing additional tasks as needed.
**Essential Qualifications:**
– Bachelor’s degree or higher in construction, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
– Strong experience in construction project approval and public affairs in Qatar.
– Proficiency in local government work procedures in Qatar.
– Strong network within the data center ecosystem and regulatory authorities, with local experience in Qatar and international exposure being advantageous.
