The ideal candidate is responsible for the implementation, administration/configuration, and maintenance of assigned IT systems to ensure smooth and continuous provision of information systems and services
Responsibilities
Installing, configuring, and updating software, hardware, and networks.
Administer Windows Systems on-prem and Cloud (private and public)
Develop/maintain automation of Windows based systems
Develop procedures and training for Operations staff
Performs other duties as requested
Develop tools/scripts in PowerShell/python
Full-time work with participation in a 24-hour on-call rotation
Develop automation processes for systems management and monitoring.
Manage and monitor network servers, technology tools, system performance, troubleshooting issues and outages according to set requirements.
Ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure Plan, co-ordinate and implement effective security measures to safeguard database integrity through access controls, backups, and firewalls.
Record issues received through an appropriate monitoring system and classify them according to frequent issues or one-time issues. Maintain knowledge-based documentation for reference.
Setup and maintain accounts, workstations, and grant access rights in line with approved levels to restrict database access to authorized end-users only.
Perform periodic proactive monitoring of the assigned systems to identify any early warning signs and implement relevant preventive measures.
Propose new technologies for IT infrastructure.
Build and monitor an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies.
Monitor third party service providers / vendors to ensure that they provide quality and timely services, related to support of relevant IT systems.
Perform any other duty, within a reasonable professional boundary, as assigned by the IT Technical Manager from time to time.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
ITIL certifications will be an added advantage
Minimum 5 years of work experience in a similar role preferably in the GCC
Technology Systems
Knowledge of Endpoint Security and EDR Solutions
Knowledge of Networking Concepts and experience with Cisco Hardware Required
Experience with Huawei NAS, required
Experience with VMWare Infrastructure, required
Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
