SUMMARY
Worked in tectonically stressed, faulted and weak bedding plane area Kirthar Block (Pakistan) and Block-5 (RAK, UAE) mainly deal with drilling challenges i.e. Kick, Well Ballooning, hole pack off, weak bedding plane failure, bridging, and time-dependent failure issues etc.
Dealing with drilling hazards like complete loss circulation in fractured limestone of the Kirthar Formation even with air foam drilling, highly hydrophilic shales, and tectonically stressed Formations.
Evaluated, implemented, and experienced UBD (Under Balance Drilling), drilling with RSS & ERT motor, long casing/liner running jobs, Reaming while casing, Conventional Coring operations, Wellhead installations and stage cementing jobs etc.
Develop, maintenance and overall assurance of compliance with the Well Integrity Management System (WIMS) in well planning and operations.
Exploratory and development wells planning and design in Block#5 (UAE), SOW & Remuneration preparations, Technical Bids evaluation, resourcing servicing and equipment to execution drilling well. Lead well operations, prepare post-well analysis reports, and conduct AAR (After Action Reviews).

Job Description:
Work on preparation of Basis of Design (BOD) Document and prepare Drilling Program for exploratory / wild cat well in Block #5, RAK, UAE.
Conduct DWOP (Drill Well on Paper) and TWOP (Test Well on Paper), capture all associated risks in drilling operations, and take in line with all stakeholders to optimize the operations.
Real-time monitoring of drilling operations and advice to DSVs / well site team for rectification/optimization of operations wherever required.
Lead the Daily Operations Morning Call with the Well site team, ensuring the operations are conducted in the best interest of the Company. Discusses future operations plans with the Drilling Supervisor to optimize and mitigate drilling problems.
Monitor daily drilling expenditures and ensure to complete well operations within the approved AFE.
Review equipment planning & coordinate with Drilling supervisors the timely arrival of drilling equipment and services on the wellsite and to elimination of unwanted standby.
Ensure that wells are drilled and completed in a manner that meets the objectives of the Reservoir, Production, and Geological departments.
Ensure the compliance of Drilling Operations with the approved Drilling Program and follow wherever MOC (Management of Change) is required to fulfill the requirement of the local Regulator (RAKPA).
Monitor the daily progress of well operations and review Drilling, Mud, Mud Log, and Wellbore surveying data and carry engineering analysis, discuss recommendations with the Drilling Manager, and pass instructions to DSVs accordingly.
Liaise with HQ wherever inputs are required in drilling problems and finalization of service programs.
Provide sound drilling engineering methods and procedures to be used on assigned drilling problems.
Follow and facilitate the drilling activities liaising with the rig team and with other departmental members in the office and well site.
Encourage and support HSE training and implementation of new procedures and guidelines.
Actively contributed and suggested improvements in the safety of operations.
Support Wellsite HSE specialists to carry out regular audits of service companies.
Lead the pre-section meetings with Service companies and the operational team.
Ensure programs are strictly adhered to at the well site as well as participate in the performance reviews of the well programs
Review the Daily Operations Report i.e. DDRs, DMRs, and all services reports, and confirm the compliance with operations and ensure correct data has been reported.
Review the daily operation services cost and correct wherever required and prepare the Daily Cost Reports in Peloton Wellview software.
Review Post Job Report and ensure all essential information has been incorporated i.e. problems/issues, reasons and provide recommendations for future well to avoid reoccurrence of issues again and proper preventive measures can be taken as part of future strategy.
Prepare technical justification and cost estimations of each service where Contract value has been exceeded.
Prepare End of Well Report (EOWR) and discuss in detail about encountered drilling problem, action taken, and future strategy to take preventive measures.
Prepare well AFE and get it approved by management.
Effectively review offset wells, and implement preventive measures to avoid the re-occurrence of the same drilling problems.
Work in close collaboration with the Completion department and assisted during the DST and Well Testing Phase.
Provide inputs in developing Cementing and Mud engineering programs in light of lessons learned in offset wells.
Track record drilling performance optimization and considered for onward operational improvement.
Ensure that the Contractor has prepared services job tickets and invoices as per the Contract, and checked and verified invoices.
Perform ordered Long Lead Items (LLIs) inspections in PKN ORLEN drilling Yard as well as the Contractor’s Base, highlight the discrepancies, and seek clarification on them.
Assist in Well Testing Operations and gave feedback wherever required to Well Testing and Completion team members.
Preparation and supervision of the complete well P&A Program.
Conduct performance meetings through the term of the contracts, with service providers, to increase the efficiency of the service and reduce/eliminate any potential problems.
Work on PKN Orlen Drilling Standards revision, suggested changes to Management wherever required.

Worked as Night Company man (NDSV) & Wellsite Drilling Engineer to supervise / assist in all Wellsite drilling operations.
Prepare Daily Drilling Report (DDR), Daily Cost report, and 7 – Days look ahead report, etc.
Conduct Casing / Liner running and cementing operations.
Actively involved in Fishing operations and advise next operations / way forward after convulsive discussion with Vendor.
Prepare drill bits performance analysis reports and share recommendation for future bit design optimization.
To supervise Underbalanced Drilling (Air & Aerated) operations.

Conduct a Pre-Spud meeting on the well site and brief on the drilling plan. Track, evaluate, and manage KPIs to improve operations. Identify areas where improvisation is required to enhance performance. Led a comprehensive study on improvisation of Production casing & Liner elastic cement slurry design to ensure zonal isolation during high BHP in Hydraulic Fracturing operations mainly by knowing the plastic regions of slurries through lab tests and stress analysis simulations. Led a detailed mud system analysis study to address the wellbore instability issues primarily i.e. weak bedding plane failure, osmotic diffusion, and time dependency failures, etc., and an optimized mud system was proposed based on extensive lab testing results on Formation cutting sample/cavings, etc.
Provide necessary technical support during the JVP audit for drilling operation.
