The Auto Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining company vehicles to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. The role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect vehicles and identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
Diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, steering, and electrical system faults.
Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize vehicle downtime.
Replace defective parts and components as required.
Perform vehicle testing and inspections after repairs.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean and organized.
Follow company safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
Report major repair requirements and parts needs to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
Diploma, Technical Certificate, or equivalent in Automotive Technology or a related field.
Minimum 2–5 years of experience as an Auto Mechanic.
Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and workshop equipment.
Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with light and heavy vehicles.
