CONTRACTOR : Gulf Petro chemical Services (GPS) DESIGNATION : SITE MANAGER – PIPELINE COUNTRY : OMAN

 

My duties / responsibilities involve the below:

Worked as Site Manager for North Section Spread. Area of working: Sand , Rock and Sabkha land ( High Water Table )

Pipeline Construction :
1)      Study the scope of work, Specifications, Applicable codes and standards and prepare method statements and procedures.

2)      Perform Site visit to Mark & verify all crossing sections and existing services (underground & above ground) with as- built/AFC drawings along the corridor & easements. Facilitate a pre-construction survey from the client FEED Design for verification at site.

3)      Verification & quantity take-off from Alignment Sheets and Crossing Drawing.

4)      Review MTO for the pipeline materials received at site. Facilitate all the site material/tool requirement and assist procurement for the project.

5)      Responsible for all construction activities like Stringing, Bending Schedule as per design IP and existing grade level, (Welding Manual Mainline Welding & Tie-In SMAW Stick Welding throughout.), Coating (Heat Shrink Sleeve Covalence – HSS ), Trenching, Lowering, Tie-In, Crossing Minor & Major rivers trenching, Post-Padding & Backfill.

6)      Facilitate the Daily Work Permit / Confined Space Permit Approvals with the Permit Coordinator prior to start job.

7)      Conduct and attend toolbox talk with construction team regularly at site and address the JSA concerns.

8)      Overall, control the site activities in compliance with the HSE Project Specifications.

9)      Supervising the critical job execution as required at site.

Pipeline Maintenance Operations :
1)      Working for the Contract – General Maintenance & Engineering Services (GMES) Project on (GTF) Gas Transportation Facilities related to Gas Pipeline transport Network of 2500 Km and facilities comprising of Gas Supply Stations, Compressor Stations, Pressure Reducing Station and Metering Terminal. Areas covered Fahud, Buraymi, Sohar, Sur and Muscat.

2)      Plan and Schedule the routine maintenance and call off (Non-Routine) activities with the OGC client integrity activity plan (IAP) team and freeze the plan for week.

3)      Upon receive notification from client operation team, carry out and support the execution of the planned regular routine / unplanned call off maintenance jobs for in-service pipeline sections, Station Traps – Launcher and Receiver Traps , Station Piping, Block Valve Stations, Corrosion Monitoring Coupons as per the schedule. The scope covers civil, mechanical & E&I activities.

4)      Organize / Manage a crew of civil, mechanical & E&I in order to execute and support the maintenance works as per the call-off related work orders and scheduled plan depending on priority. Civil works include ROW Surveillance , ROW and access road rectification, Marker post- Sign Board re-installation, Replacement of old fence/ barricades by New Fence around the stations as required using Barrier pipe posts and Crossing re-instatement with windrow as required. Mechanical Works included Trap (Launcher – Receiver) Maintenance, Pigging( In-line), Station Valve, Relief Valve & fittings replacement / repair, piping-pipeline section replacement, Torqueing after receiving shutdown of operations. Overhauling/ Calibration of Valves, Motors , Relief Valve and Corrosion Monitoring Coupons. E&I work included Cathodic Protection Monitoring, Maintenance & Repair.

5)      Depressurize-Degas old existing redundant flow lines, Nitrogen purging , remove and replacement by new lines.

6)      Hot tap welding of the Split Tee on the existing Gas lines to facilitate installation of the Valves for the branch line for future connection.

18)   Executing the errection/installation/modification as required at site conditions of the piping spools, Piping Field Material and Fittings, piping support structures at approach stations Launcher, Receiver, Block Valve, Valves & Manifold..etc

19)   Planning and executing the Welding of Hot Tap Split Tee & later co-ordination with the sub-contractor (TDW) for drilling (Performing Hot Tapping) with proper scaffolding with all safety measures.

20)   Executing the installation of Fire Water Spools (8” Ø & 12” Ø ) UG.

 

Pipeline Maintenance Operations :
1)      The maintenance contract included planned regular routine / unplanned call off maintenance jobs for in-service pipeline sections

2)      Upon receive notification from client, carry out the planned regular routine / unplanned call off maintenance jobs for in-service pipeline sections, Station Piping, Block Valve Stations, Corrosion Monitoring Stations related to civil & mechanical scope.

3)      Manage a crew of civil and mechanical in order to execute and support the maintenance works as per the work order and schedule plan. Civil works included ROW and access road rectification, Marker post- Sign Board re- installation and Crossing re-instatement. Mechanical Works included Trap (Launcher – Receiver) Maintenance, Pigging, Station Valve, Relief Valve & fittings replacement / repair, piping-pipeline section replacement, Torqueing after receiving shutdown of operations.

4)      Depressurize-Degas old existing redundant flow lines, remove and replacement by new lines.

5)      Hot tap welding of the Split Tee on the existing Gas lines to facilitate installation of the Valves for the branch line for future connection.

6)      Depressurize the existing piping section of the 24” diameter fuel gas, lift and remove. Replacement by new spool attachment.

PROJECT COST : US $ 204 Million.

CONTRACTOR : MCCONNELL DOWELL CONSTRUCTORS THAI LTD. DESIGNATION : PIPELINE ENGINEER – SUPERVISOR – SUPERINTENDENT

My duties / responsibilities involve the below:

Working for Middle and North Spread. Works involves Major Asphalt Roads (Super Express highways), Rocky Terrain and High Water Table area.

Pipeline Construction :
1)      Study the scope of work, Specifications, Applicable codes and standards and prepare method statements and procedures.

2)      Verification & quantity take-off from Alignment Sheets and Crossing Drawing.

3)      Review MTO for the pipeline materials received at site. Facilitate all the site material/tool requirement and assist procurement for the project.

4)      Verify all crossing sections and existing services (underground & above ground) with the AFC drawings.

5)      Responsible for all construction activities like ROW Preparation, Pipeline Route Marking, Stringing , Bending Schedule as per design IP and existing grade level, Welding (SMAW Stick Welding – Mainline Welding & Tie-In.), Coating (Heat Shrink Sleeve Covalence – HSS ), Trenching, Lowering, Tie-In, Crossing Minor & Major rivers trenching, Post-Padding & Backfill.

6)      Attend toolbox talk with construction team regularly at site and address the JSA concerns.

7)        Supervising the critical job execution as required at site.

8)      Reporting to Construction Manager / Project Manager and assist him on daily planning and execution of the job.

9)      Liaise with site client’s representatives and Sub-Contractor for daily construction activities.

10)   Attending the Weekly Construction Meeting with the construction and the planning team.

17)   Facilitating the Welding of Hot Tap Split Tee with all safety measures.

Pipeline Maintenance Operations :
1)      Pigging the existing line with process gas to clean the slug and condensate in the line after receiving shutdown.

2)      Depressurizing the line after receiving shutdown with positive isolation. Nitrogen Purging and pipeline section replacement of the effected length of line.

3)      Monitoring of the CP test point voltages and current for current drain inspection.

4)      ROW and Civil Crossing maintenance and re-instatement works

5)      Marker Post and Pipeline Markers – Signboard repair and installation. Barrier Fence installation.

6)      Hot tap welding of the Split Tee on the existing Gas lines to facilitate installation of the Sales Tap Valve for the branch line for future connection

My duties / responsibilities involve the below:

Working for West Section Spread. Area of working: Hilly Rock and Swamp Marshy land (High Water Table) and rocky hills. Work involves laying pipeline of 15% gradient with 480 small and major river crossings.

Pipeline Construction :
1)      Study the scope of work, Specifications, Applicable codes and standards and prepare method statements and procedures.

2)      Verification of all the Alignment Sheets and Crossing Drawings. Co-ordinate with surveyor to plot trenching profile to meet 15% gradient. Prepare crossing profile. Open cut trenches across water streams, river. Prepare sections, welded and lowered.

3)      Preparation of ROW Preparation to meet 15% gradient, Stringing , Bending, Welding ,Coating, Trenching, Lowering, Tie-In, Crossing Minor & Major rivers & HDD.

4)      Planning for job execution (Mechanical) on daily basis.

5)      Supervising the Welding and Coating operations including all the critical and non-critical job execution as required at site.

6)      Reporting to Construction Manager and assist him on daily planning and execution of the job.
