Project: – Katara Twin Tower at Lusail – design and build of the façades. The External Façade Systems and enclose two (2) Hotel Towers, 204.88m high, from the Promenade Level (Elev. -6.10m) to the Top of the Sword (Elev. 204.88m), include all the wall types of the external envelop of the Towers including all parts and components that complete the system.

CURRENT ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design safety training programs for employees and ensure response to all specific requirements and maintain knowledge of QTA safety programs and draft all materials for training programs within required timeframe.
Prepare all HSE training program according to required regulations and prepare schedule of all training programs and ensure all employees receive appropriate training and participate in various committee meetings for site.
Providing HSE input and expertise towards the achievement of successful contract/project bids.
Develop and recommend improvements to all Quality Management Systems and develop and implement efficient site operations emergency response plans and ensure adherence to all federal and state regulations.

Brief Description of Project / Methodology

The “Ocean Blue” Hamad port NPP/0067 project package consists of different types of systems required to be designed and implemented:

Security Systems
Port Operations Systems
Infrastructure systems
The Scope of work for NPP/0067 includes but shall not be limited to the following: Design, supply, construction, installation, interface, coordination, configuration, integration, testing and commissioning, maintenance of the new port operational, management, Port Enterprise systems, solutions and applications comprising but not limited to:

Ø  Phase One Operational & Backup Centre – Modular Disaster Recovery Centre (MDRC) (To be used initially as the operational data centre and after the completion of the NPP Main Data Centre to be used as a disaster recovery centre)

Ø  Project Integration Centre (PIC).  The role of the (PIC) is of key importance for the port system integration and will be the port staging environment.  Each system interface will be tested, optimized, assessed and proven during the Preliminary Integration Tests in the staging environment prior to system commissioning and final acceptance, ensuring Prior to rolling-out new applications or releases, users should test the system before it is deployed in a production environment.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Support commercial tenders for area of responsibility.

·         Advise and assist management on HSE matters, to ensure implementation of HSE management system and all client requirements within the area of jurisdiction

·         Ensure the development, implementation and updating of required written safety and health programs and plans.

·         Facilitate internal auditing and external auditing as per divisional audit schedule and ensure tracking and closure of remedial action.

·         Coordinate accident/injury investigations within area of responsibility and where necessary as per requirement, lead investigation and ensure tracking and close out of CAR’s.

·         To maintain up to date of the latest safety requirements of area and report changes to management.

·         To coordinate HSE training of employees as required in line with divisional and site specific training to ensure competency of workforce is maintained as required.

·         Provide HSE statistics and report of HSE activities, to divisional HSE manager, business units and client representatives.

·         Monitor ‘STOP’ audits and analysis to evolve effective means, to improve the observation standards as to extract optimum benefits out of STOP.

·         Monitor emergency mock drills as an observer and advise the line supervisor for proper exercise, both in the residential area and in the work sites.

Consultant Environmental, Health and Safety Advisor working on the Lusail Development Project, supervising the works of three construction packages, consisting of 16 km of utility tunnels, 66 and 11kva substations, road and marina infrastructure, pump stations, reservoirs and land-scaping irrigation network, telecommunication system and other facilities.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Liaise with the Client (Lusail – Qatari Diar) Safety Representative and other concerned authorities or contractors on work related safety requirements at site.
Administer appropriate safe work practices/procedure for the Project
Support contractor’s HSE officers on field in conducting inspections, giving advice in solving encountered problems and achieving to rectify immediately so that zero harm will be achieved for the safety of all workers.

Inspects work areas to ensure it is safe and free from any hazards for all workers, engineers, and management.  To coordinate with contractor safety department regarding the expected work activities in order to plan in advance proactive safety measures to eliminate any possibility of accidents or incidents.
Rendering advice, guidance and information concerning safety, health and environmental issues.
Undertake regular health and safety audit/inspections of project work areas; find out non-compliance and area for improvements.
Check safety requirements in method statements and permit to work procedures submitted by the contractor.

Brief Description of Project / Methodology

Salini Impregilo S.p.A, SK Engineering and Galfar Al Misnad formally known as ISG JV is a joint venture partnership that has been formed for the purpose of delivering the Red Line (North) Underground Project. Red Line (North) Underground Project is one of a number of concurrent projects that comprise the Qatar Integrated Railway Project (QIRP). The tunneling works for this project comprises of the following distinct working areas or methods: Shaft Sinking, Tunneling, Cross Passages, and Ground Treatment.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Sr. HSSE manager in conducting internal audits (Self-Assessment) on all the projects sites/stations
Accident/Incident reporting from all the sites and update on ISMS (Integrated Security Management System – (ISO 27001)
Ensure all incidents are closed out within the time-frame of 7days on the ISMS and develop recommendation actions
Accident investigation, develop report and HSE alert where necessary
Develop corrective actions to address negative trends and near misses.
