RESPONSIBILITIES: To lead a team of piping and be responsible for all the technical decisions associated with engineering in achieving the design of Underground facilities, which includes hydrocarbon and aromatic drains, firewater, OWDS, DW. The closed drain facility includes 14 underground closed drain drums with buried and trench piping. Complete UG firewater network catering to fire hydrants, fire monitors, deluge skids, hose reels. Oily water Sewer from Dike catch basin, Pump-curb catch basin, Dewatering from the tanks and from other process entities. DW supply and return lines catering 88 safety showers and 8 buildings. The total line count accounts to 2000. On successful progress of UG, I was also advised to streamline the above ground layout for few other areas and the same was successfully handed over to newly inducted Engineers. VGO tanks, Fuel oil export facilities, Condensate area, and Utility distribution.

Crude oil processing capacity is 15 million tons per annum (15MMTPA). RESPONSIBILITIES: To lead a team of piping and be responsible for all the technical decisions associated with engineering in achieving the design of main pipe rack & 27 battery limit platforms, A four tier pipe rack of 15m wide, 18m high with total a total run of 1.5 km and 500m of sleepers was designed to accommodate 64 process lines and 33 utility lines which includes HP & LP Flare, 5 steam lines ranging between 24” to 32”. It also includes design of flare condensate pot, steam traps, utility station, complex battery limit platforms, expansion loops & its support structures. Coordination with other contractor on tie-in related issues. The challenging part was to achieve the requirements of stress with various constraints in layout and feasible structural design in this highly congested rack.

The project was a modular fabrication.

The scope includes detail engineering for LPG fractionation unit. The purpose of this unit is to separate the LPG into off-gas, propane, butane, and a mixed LPG stream. The feed is collected in the surge drum, and then sent to de-ethaniser where ethane is extracted, and then the bottom stream of de-ethaniser is sent to the de-propaniser, where butane and propane are removed. RESPONSIBILITIES: Modeling of piping & equipment’s, the layout design includes piping in and around the equipment’s like LPG feed surge drums and Reflux Pumps, Feed exchangers, De-Ethaniser and De-Propaniser, it‘s associated Re-boilers, Reflux Drums & Reflux Pumps, Product coolers.
