Dear Recruitment Team,

I am writing to express my interest in joining your organization as a Chemist. In my current role as Senior Analytical Chemist – Chromatography Laboratory at Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited, Port Harcourt, I have consistently enhanced productivity, quality, and efficiency within the quality control section. My PhD in Analytical Chemistry, MSc in Petroleum Chemistry/Petrochemicals, BSc in Chemistry, and a Technical Certificate in Boiler, Cooling, and Wastewater Treatment for Optimal Efficiency and Environmental Compliance, with 18 years of professional experience equip me to contribute effectively to your team.

I specialize in ensuring compliance with international standards for effluent discharge, improving product reliability, and fostering customer trust. My PhD research addressed a longstanding challenge in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry: the precipitation of heavy organics in crude oil. I conducted comprehensive analyses of Afiesere crude oil, identifying critical precipitant levels for enhanced oil recovery and flow improvement.

Key accomplishments include:

·         Contributed to a team that optimized olefin furnace operations, reducing decoking time from 72 hours to 24 hours through the Selective Cracking for Optimal Recovery (SCORE) upgrade.

·         Maintained robust sampling procedures and analytical standards for petroleum, gas, and petrochemical products, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international standards.

·         Maintaining adherence to international quality standards and enhancing laboratory operations with advanced instrumentation (e.g., GC-FID, GC-MS, AAS) and data systems like LIMS.

·         Resolved a technical issue at the Olefins plant that reduced financial losses by 80% and prevented the flaring of 15 MT/hour of ethylene gas.

·         Proficient in GC processing software, such as Agilent Chemstation, Shimadzu LabSolutions, and Perkin Elmer TCNavigator.

I am proficient in analytical techniques, quality assurance, and leading multicultural teams. My contributions to Indorama’s post-privatization success further highlight my capability to drive impactful results.

I would be honored to bring my expertise to your team, contributing to your organization’s mission and growth. I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my skills align with your needs.

Please find attached my comprehensive curriculum vitae for your review.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Oteiva MOKIE FRANK, Ph.D
