JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Leading a team in the execution of various tasks under the maintenance contract, including Preventive & Corrective maintenance, fault finding, and troubleshooting activities for Fire detection systems, Gas detection systems, fire suppression systems, and Fire fighting systems in different buildings, processing units, and remote areas.
Ensuring that all activities related to fire and gas detectors comply with safe working practices, site safety regulations, and established practices.
Receiving work assignments from the authorized fire & gas instrument team & working alone or with a team as required.
Preparing various work permits such as Cold work permits, Hot work permits, and Confined Space Entry permits based on job requirements.
Responsible for requisitioning work orders for F&G instrument repair or replacement of spare parts for specific tasks.
Performing inhibits procedures, including isolations/de-isolation of fire & gas devices safely and effectively.
Reviewing cause & effect diagrams, functional logic diagrams, loop drawings, layout diagrams, and design packages for modifications to improve reliability and executing plans as required.
Conducting daily pre-job safety toolbox talks, job hazard analyses, and pre-confined space entry procedures before starting work each day.
Conducting site inspections, Loop tests, walkthrough tests, pre-commissioning loop checks, loop power-ups, Operation start-ups, functional logic tests, and ESD actual trip logical tests as per approved (or) as-built Cause & Effect and checking all conditions and reporting punch points to the client and project lead as required.
Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of Planning and work Supervision of installation, Inspection, calibration, functional testing, troubleshooting of addressable & conventional fire alarm panels, smoke/heat detectors, flammable/toxic fixed gas detectors, flame detectors, VESDA smoke detection system (HSSD), manual call points, Fire protection CO2 system, NOVEC system, Inergen system, floating roof Auto rim seal system, deluge and sprinkler water spray systems as required.
Responsible for fault finding and repairing instruments, identifying problems in deluge systems and floating roofs of auto rim seal systems, replacing spare parts such as Nitrogen cylinders, pressure gauges, pressure switches, solenoid valves, pneumatic pilot actuators, manifold valves, and pressure control regulators, conducting testing and making adjustments to all pneumatic and electronic fire & gas equipment in the field if required.
Periodically performing functionality tests, sequence logic tests, trip logic voting (1ooN, 2ooN) system and confirming the actual status in DCS panels as per as-built cause & effect.
Immediate repairs of false alarms, loop open/shorts, ground faults in the event of unplanned breakdowns, inspecting, maintaining, and testing all fire alarm equipment on-site, and replacing defective components as needed.
Acting as a team leader during emergencies and responding to on-call situations on a non-routine basis after working hours, weekends, and holidays.
Providing job status updates on breakdowns and critical maintenance activities, reporting to clients, project leads daily.
Ensuring calibration and testing of instruments using standard Calibration gases measurement and testing equipment in line with project standards and procedures.
Preparing reports on preventive and corrective maintenance activities, daily, weekly, and monthly work progress reports, instrument service & calibration reports, functional test reports, and records of spares used as per client requirements.
Coordinating with the operation team, instrument team, fire control department, and commissioning team for site acceptance testing of fire alarm systems, Flame & gas detection systems, fire protection & fire fighting systems as per client requirements.
Proficient in reading plant layout drawings, as-built cause & effect, loop drawings, instrument cable termination FLD through the instrument, marshalling panel.
Performing other similar duties while adhering to safety rules & regulations.

HAND ON EXPERIENCE FIRE AND GAS INSTRUMENTATION SYSTEM

Troubleshooting & Testing of Fire Alarm Panels:
– Addressable & conventional Fire Alarm Panels, Fire suppression extinguishing agent panels (TYCO, Minerva, Autronica, Honeywell, Siemens, Auto pulse, Gent, C-Tec, and THORN).

Troubleshooting & Testing of Fire Alarm Devices:
– Smoke detectors, Heat detectors, Beam detectors, LWHD system in various locations of Substation & control buildings, warehouse areas, transformer rooms, and tank areas (TYCO, Apollo, GENT, Thorn security, Siemens, Fireray 2000, Bosch, Kidde).

Installation, Calibration, Testing, and Troubleshooting of Gas Detectors:
– Flammable gas detectors and Toxic gas detectors in various plant processing areas, confined space pit areas, HVAC air intake areas, and battery rooms (Sieger-Series 2000, Zellweger/Honeywell-Apex, Optima Plus, XNX, XCD, OELD, Det-tronics, General Monitor, Dragger, Detcon, Netsafety, Crowcon, Simtronics & MSA Ultima X5000).

Troubleshooting & Testing of Flame Detectors:
– UV/IR Flame Detectors in transformer rooms, compressor shelters, LPG tanks, pump shelters, and chiller yard areas (General monitor, Fire sentry, Dragger, Netsafety, Ominiguard, Det-tronics, Spectrex).

Troubleshooting & Testing of Manual Call Points and Alarm Devices:

Troubleshooting & Testing of Fire Suppression Systems:
